POSITION: Estimator/Senior Estimator

Salary: Up to 175K DOE, Full Benefits and Bonus

Reports To: Chief Estimator
Works Closely With: Senior Estimators

Overview:
The Estimator is responsible for accurately calculating and projecting costs associated with construction projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and market conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare detailed material, labor, and equipment estimates.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and subcontractor proposals to ensure consistency and completeness in all estimates.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of construction methods, codes, sequencing, and costs related to vendors and subcontractors.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and job site walkthroughs.
  • Prepare project scopes and evaluate subcontractor bids.
  • Solicit and manage bid packages from subcontractors.
  • Identify and prequalify new subcontractors and vendors while maintaining strong relationships with existing partners.
  • Coordinate RFIs and resolve conflicts found within bid documents.
  • Assemble complete pricing estimates with supporting documentation.
  • Assess and communicate construction risks, profitability, and constructability concerns with executive leadership.
  • Maintain high attention to detail while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications:

Experience & Education:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
  • Project experience in sectors such as Academic, Cultural, Corporate, Laboratory, Healthcare, Retail, and Restaurant.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Building Construction, or a related field.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • iSqFt
  • On-Screen Takeoff (OST)
  • Bluebeam
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks is a plus

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Authorization to work in the United States
