OPEN POSITION: Project Stormwater Engineer
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Project Stormwater Engineer with over 7 years of experience, you will lead and manage the planning, design, and implementation of stormwater management systems. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, oversee junior engineers, and ensure the successful completion of projects in compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
DUTIES AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Project Management: Lead and manage stormwater engineering projects from conception through completion, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
* Design and Analysis: Develop and review stormwater management plans, designs for stormwater drainage systems, detention and retention basins, green infrastructure, and erosion control measures. Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
* Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff. Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
* Compliance and Standards: Ensure all designs and constructions comply with relevant federal, state, and local environmental regulations, as well as industry standards (e.g., EPA, local stormwater management ordinances).
* Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with clients, government agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements and expectations are met.
* Site Supervision: Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress, ensure quality control, and address any on-site issues or changes.
* Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed project reports, documentation, and presentations. Maintain accurate records of project milestones, decisions, and changes.
* Innovation and Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Implement innovative solutions to improve project outcomes.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
* Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in stormwater engineering, including project management experience.
* Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in stormwater design software (e.g., SWMM, HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD Civil 3D), and knowledge of engineering analysis tools.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
* Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
* Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead multidisciplinary teams.
* Green Design: Experience with sustainable and green infrastructure design.
* Procurement Methods: Familiarity with public procurement processes and contract management
