Headquartered in London with ambitious plans to expand into the U.S, the firm focuses on transforming under performing properties into lifestyle destinations through investment, development, and asset management.

About the Role

As VP of Development Management in the U.S., you will oversee the initial project pipeline, building and maintaining relationships with municipalities, designers, architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.

Reporting to the London-based SVP of Development Management, you will collaborate with investment, development, and asset management teams. Your responsibilities include leading external teams to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Manage the technical due diligence process for new acquisitions in close cooperation with the investment team and advise the deal team on any technical and delivery matters as and when they arise.
• Develop the initial Brief (conceptual plans and preliminary budgets and schedules) to evaluate the financial feasibility of a project in conjunction with the wider underwriting process.
• Deliver various projects within budget, on time and to our high standards - setting realistic programmes and key milestones and seeing projects through from start to hotel opening.
• Review underwriting business cases at regular intervals with investment team and asset management teams and feed findings back to the project so investment targets are met.
• Appoint consultancy and design teams and negotiate fees, scopes of services and appointment documents
• Manage and oversee the planning and juridical background of the development in order to cover project risks and actively manage all external project stakeholders (municipality, neighbours, local community, etc.)
• Oversee preparation of robust tender information and manage tender process through to completion of contracts.

About you

• BA or MA Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture
• At least 10 years' experience within a development and/or project management role with a passion for hospitality and fit-out projects of high-quality interior design.
• Someone with a track record of successful project delivery and a strong understanding of cost and project management processes including procurement and tender procedures, contract administration, design economics, value engineering and general construction principles.
• Analytical and precise in execution
• Entrepreneurial, and self-starting/motivating capabilities
• Commercial drive to do the best deal possible in the interest of the project/the investment
• Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, networking and presentation skills
• Willingness to travel regularly
