Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Cost Manager to join their New York team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company at an early stage, where you can develop your skills and grow quickly within the business.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support the oversight and execution of projects under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Assist in the preparation of Order of Cost Estimates, Cost Plans, Tender Documents, and Contract Documents.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to Cost Meetings, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Communicate with Contractors on cost-related matters, including cost reports, variations, and planned vs. actual costs.
  • Maintain and utilize the Cost Management platform to track project costs and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist the Project Manager with updating provisional sum and CDP schedules during the construction phase.
  • Conduct monthly assessments and contribute to the preparation of final accounts, under the supervision of senior personnel.
  • Manage change requests and ensure all adjustments are documented and approved.
  • Support the generation of required monthly reports and presentations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in construction cost management, contract administration, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of construction, engineering, and architectural principles.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Pre- and post-contract experience is a plus.
  • US citizenship, transferable work authorization, or eligibility for an E2 or E3 visa.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
