Our client is seeking a talented Assistant Cost Manager to join their San Francisco office. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of an ambitious team in the early stages of growth, with potential for rapid career advancement.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the day-to-day management and execution of cost-related tasks for projects.
  • Support the preparation of Order of Cost Estimates, Cost Plans, Tender Documents, and Contract documents in accordance with company protocols.
  • Provide administrative support for Cost Meetings.
  • Liaise with Contractors on cost reports, planned versus actual costs, changes, variations, and help address any disputes.
  • Help maintain and utilize the company's platform to manage and communicate cost-related matters effectively within projects.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager during the construction phase to monitor provisional sum schedules and CDP schedules, ensuring updates are accurately documented and communicated.
  • Assist in conducting monthly assessments, contributing to the preparation and settlement of final accounts.
  • Support the handling of change requests under appropriate supervision.
  • Assist in generating required monthly reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in construction or contract management, preferably on complex infrastructure projects.
  • Basic understanding of construction, engineering, and architecture principles.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with both pre- and post-contract activities.
  • US citizenship or existing/transferable right to work in the US, or eligibility for an E2 or E3 visa.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
