Cost Manager

$115-130,000 + Package

New York

We are representing an expanding Cost Consultancy headquartered in New York with offices across the US. This organization has achieved significant early success due to its strong relationships with leading blue-chip companies. The firm prides itself on its culture, comparable to that of some of the world's leading high-tech clients with whom they work extensively. The current business owners are very hands-on and are on a path to becoming one of the leaders in Cost Management in the USA.

Our client is looking for a best-in-class Cost Manager to join their New York office. This is not just a typical "Cost Manager" role; as this organization is still in its early stages, there is a unique opportunity to become part of this growth journey, progressing quickly and making a significant impact.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and execute the day-to-day activities of projects.
  • Create Order of Cost Estimates, Cost Plans, Tender Documents, and Contract documents following the company's established protocols.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to Cost Meetings.
  • Communicate with Contractors regarding cost reports, planned versus actual costs, changes, variations, and address any disputes that arise.
  • Utilize and maintain the Platform to manage and communicate cost-related matters effectively within a project.
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager during the construction phase to assess provisional sum schedules and CDP schedules, ensuring updates are accurately documented and shared with all relevant parties.
  • Conduct monthly assessments as needed, with guidance from senior personnel, and assist in the preparation and settlement of final accounts.
  • Manage change requests under appropriate guidance.
  • Generate required monthly reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction and/or contract management for complex infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction, engineering, and architecture principles.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Pre and Post contract experience.
  • US citizenship or existing/transferable right to work in the US or eligibility for an E2 or E3 visa.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

If you are interested in this opportunity and fit the above criteria, please contact Jemima Ralph at 646-494-4494 or j.ralph@capstone-recruitment.com
