Our client is a leading General Contractor with a reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across various sectors, including commercial, retail, hospitality and industrial. The team is expanding, and looking for a talented and detail-oriented Assistant Mechanical & Electrical (MEP) Estimator to join their growing Estimating department.

Job Overview:
As an Assistant MEP Estimator, you will support the Estimating team in preparing accurate cost estimates for mechanical and electrical systems for a variety of construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your estimating skills and contribute to the successful delivery of large-scale projects in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of detailed MEP cost estimates for projects, ensuring all materials, labor, and overhead costs are accurately accounted for.

• Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to understand project requirements.

• Collaborate with the Estimating team and other departments to gather necessary data for estimates.

• Perform take-offs and calculations for mechanical and electrical systems.

• Assist in the procurement of subcontractor bids and material costs.

• Organize and maintain accurate project records and files.

• Help prepare bid proposals and submit them to clients.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, codes, and standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred, not required).

• 1-4 years of experience in MEP estimating or a related field within the construction industry.

• Strong knowledge of MEP systems and construction methods.

• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.

• Motivated, eager to learn, and ready to take on new challenges.
