We are partnering with a global Owner’s Representative firm to recruit a Cost Manager for their growing team in Chicago. This leading consultancy delivers high-quality cost management and project advisory services across real estate and infrastructure sectors.
Position Overview:
As a Cost Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing project costs from inception to completion, ensuring financial efficiency and budget control. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong foundation in cost management who is eager to take on greater project responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for construction projects.
- Review tender documents, contracts, and cost proposals to ensure cost accuracy.
- Monitor and control project expenditures while providing cost-saving recommendations.
- Conduct risk assessments and cost analysis to mitigate financial risks.
- Provide regular financial updates and reporting to clients and stakeholders.
- Support value engineering initiatives and procurement strategies.
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, quantity surveying, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in cost management, estimating, project controls, or project accounting.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with cost management software (e.g., CostX, Sage, Procore) is a plus.
